Module 7: Using Bitcoin in Practice
Security in Bitcoin is your responsibility, and it starts with one absolute rule: never share your seed phrase. Not with support agents, not with friends, not with anyone claiming to verify your account. You should never screenshot or photograph your seed phrase, and never type it into a website or support chat. Other essential habits include keeping your phone updated, practicing with tiny amounts first before making larger transactions, and using strong passwords with two-factor authentication on any exchanges or custodial services you use. Common scam patterns include fake support agents asking for your seed phrase, promises of guaranteed profits or offers to double your Bitcoin, impersonation accounts pretending to be famous people or companies, and fake wallet apps with logos that look similar to real ones. A classic scam technique is creating urgency. If something feels urgent and is asking you to share sensitive information or send money, stop and verify through an independent channel. The rule is simple: if someone asks for your seed phrase, the answer is always no.
