Attackers rarely break through firewalls anymore. Instead, they go after the easiest target: people. Social engineering is the art of manipulating individuals into breaking security procedures or revealing confidential information. It exploits trust, urgency, authority, and helpfulness — all qualities that make you good at your job. The most common form is phishing: fraudulent emails designed to trick you into clicking malicious links, downloading infected attachments, or entering credentials on fake login pages.
