GDPR in Practice
One of the most common mistakes organizations make is assuming that consent is the only way to legally process personal data. In reality, GDPR provides six lawful bases, and consent is often not the most appropriate one. Choosing the right basis matters because it affects what rights the data subject has and what obligations your organization carries. The six lawful bases are: (1) Consent, (2) Contract, (3) Legal obligation, (4) Vital interests, (5) Public task, and (6) Legitimate interests.
